Although I don't own the truck anymore, I just received a letter from GM yesterday alerting me to an extended warranty for glow plug failures. Apparently it's now up to 15/150,000. 15 years is a little shocking.18 GMC 2500 L5P. 65K miles CEL came on about 2000 miles or so ago. Truck was running fine and was using DEF normally but CEL keeps returning on a P026D. Changed MAF sensor and inlet temp sensor, CEL still returns. Took truck to dealer for reflash recall and P026D was gone after but returned next day.The connector is starting to go bad, and it's right now, an intermittent failure. Heat and vibration will kill it sooner than later. Replacement connector kit is available from AcDelco. Stay clear of the ones on Amazon. Hmm. I didn’t see any real changes in range but then again it is my first diesel. It gets 30mpg on the highway at 65mph so I guess if it regens for 7% of the time then it will probably drop to 27 to 28 mpg. Seems drop down to like 22 to 24 mpg when it’s regenerating on the highway.

Doing a double drain is a waste of money personally. Change it to your fluid of choice and change it again 25k later. If you're going to deviate from Dex-IV pick and TES 668 fluid and sleep happy. I took it to Chevy (GM) Dealer for relearning per actuator replacement instructions.
