Aug 4, 2021 · Low on power and running rough after warming up. My 98 TJ with the 2.5l has been acting up lately. It seems to run pretty normal when cold, but a few minutes after reaching normal running temp, it gradually seems to idle rougher and rougher, it's low on power and there's a drop in oil pressure. There was also a noticeable drip ftom the tail pipe. If your Jeep Wrangler is running hot, it is a serious problem. If it gets too hot, it leads to overheating. The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.Kept getting 0301 and 0306 codes and a rough idle after changing plugs coil packs. Also purchased 1 injector to try and locate a common cylinder issue. Still throwing the check engine light with same cylinder misfires coded. Pulled the plugs and regapped them .005-.007 over and a miracle occurred.The 2012 and up Jeep JK wrangler fan on the 3.6L Pentastar has a few key characteristics: It is an Outrunner motor design.
