22 WMR ammo for Marlin rifle. My own Marlin is a heavy SS barrel with synthetic stock. I believe the model is the 882 SSV. Of the "standard priced" 22 WMR ammo it likes the Winchester 40 grn HPs the best with 5 shots at 100 yards printing sub 1 inch groups. The CCI 40 grn HPs group around 1 1/4 inches at the same range.If yours is a pre '77 (or pre '83 for that matter) Model 25, it should be a Glenfield 25. Marlin discontinued the Glenfield line in '83 but continued to produce most models as Marlins. If yours is a Marlin 25N, it is newer. The older 25s will require some modification to fit the aftermarket stocks.
