I personally use vortex but as others said mo2 is much better for complex large mod lists. However vortex is certainly usable once you learn the nuances that seem easier on mo2 for example my mod list is about 250 mods not including core stuff like skse and other things modded directly into my sse folder, I had many many conflicts etc.

If you're using script extender do this and use the play button top left, otherwise you can just use the play button.
