He will have a Soldier background. The main attribute will be STR. We are gonna use Standard Array ( 15-14-13-12-10-8.). The same math on a two handed longsword (1d10) would bring it from 5.5 average to 6.3 average. Which is +0.80 damage per roll. 14% increased weapon damage or 9% per hit damage with a +3 modifier.
